Fun, funky, fresh...that's me in a nutshell. I'm a 3rd generation Dallasite from a family knee deep in the Dallas Film, Video and Photography industry! My blog's a place to check out what's new with Jennifer Lauren Photography, from select session images to specials and everything in between. You'll most likely make me grin like a baby if you want to shoot somewhere funky or urban, but I equally enjoy the simple things. For those that don't know already, I photograph everything from maternity, newborns, babies, children, teens and H.S. Seniors. Clients and sessions are all throughout the DFW area; Highland Park, University Park, Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Grapevine, Las Colinas, Southlake, Keller, Colleyville...and many more! I love creating art and and I live and breathe photography!
Care to get to know me a bit? I have an awesome 4 year old son, an amazingly supportive husband, and 2 super sweet Goldens. I LOVE gummi bears, sunsets, the Red Sox, rain (except when it ruins an outdoor session) and coffee (oh, how I love my coffee. Starbuck venti triple nonfat caramel latte to be exact!). I'm not afraid to admit I listen to both kids music as well as classic rock, and I would rather be taking pictures in a funky alley than cleaning my own house! Baby boy on the way! Have you ever seen a more beautiful baby bump? Okay yeah, they are ALL beautiful! We headed to the Lake for an awesome sunset session and it ended up being perfect weather although a little windy. That actually worked out and gave the water a nice wavy look! I love the mix of natural and urban with her session!
Pregnancy portraits are such a blast and as I’ve said SO many times before, I can’t get enough of these gorgeous mama’s in such amazing, fun locations. This couple was no exception. A beautiful mama with that ultimate pregnancy glow and her beautiful, sweet partner. They kept me laughing the entire time, almost to the brink of tears, everything from the Good Luck Truck (special thanks to the super cool catering truck driver who let us use his hilariously decorated truck for a few belly images) to the Vespa honker! It was truly a joy photographing them and I cannot wait until their sweet little newborn arrives!
Just a reminder for all moms in the planning stage for pregnancy / maternity images. BOOK EARLY!!! After missing my own when hubbie and I were surprised with an early arrival, I am an advocate for early planning. Between 32-36 weeks along is the perfect time for images!
Every time I do maternity photography, I feel that twinge of baby envy…in a good way! Bellies are ALL beautiful. The promise of what’s to come just gives you reason to get excited, even if the baby isn’t yours, although it does bring back those amazing memories of my own pregnancy! This absolutely gorgeous mama was no exception and she was a trooper, braving the unexpected severe wind and chill of the day. She clearly already had a beautiful daughter, so it stands to reason that her new baby boy will be just as adorable! Wait until you see the new little cutie!
For anyone currently pregnant and thinking about maternity portraits, make sure you book EARLY! Sessions are best between 28-34 weeks along! Newborn photography session should also be pre-booked as early as possible to ensure availability within the first 5-10 days after birth!
